Flashback Workout of the Weekend: Sesame Street Exercise!

September 16, 2011

Here’s a blast from the past to get your weekend going…I can’t say I remember seeing this actually on Sesame Street, but if this acid-trip caterpillar with a foreign accent doesn’t get you motivated to work out, then I don’t know what will! And that’s the truth!

I’m going to be teaching a dance class for 6 year old’s next week (does anyone have suggestions on how to do this? I am a lost soul in the dance world…), and I may just have to use this as our theme song…I’ll prepare all weekend and let you know how it goes! Happy weekend, y’all.

Never taught one myself but I’ve been witness to a few. They all tend to incorporate fabric – like a big sheet that they lift up down and up again and then run under. They also tend to use animals to teach stretches and exercises so right arm up and is a giraffe, hands behind your head and touching your elbows together is an elephant (or you could do the hand in front of face as a trunk and bend one for the elephant), knee lifts as a flamingo etc. etc. Good luck getting those little buns moving!
